The spirit of Christmas was alive and well when twelve stowaways, discovered after the vessel left Naples were invited by Cedric’s officers to share Christmas dinner with the ship’s Steerage passengers. Sixteen more stowaways, discovered after the ship left Genoa, were put ashore at Naples.

The White Star liner Britannic (Yard No. 83) arrived at Liverpool having made a record homeward run of 7 days, 12 hours and 41 minutes from New York to Queenstown.

Captain E. L. Trant of the White Star liner Majestic spoke from mid-Atlantic as part of the BBC’s Empire broadcast. It was stated that the ship was experiencing bad weather.
