We're celebrating all things 'Brewing and Distilling' this month at Titanic Belfast as part of the NI Year of Food and Drink campaign and want you to get involved!
For the cocktail connoisseurs among you, head over to our Titanic Tipple Competition
to have your drink star on our Afternoon Tea
menu, or for those of you who prefer to cook up a storm in the kitchen why not try our delicious 'brewing' inspired recipe - straight from our 5-Star Chef team!
Titanic Beer Battered Fish & Chips
6 Fillets of Sustainable Cod
Salt and Pepper
Plain Flour (To dust)
Maris Piper Potatoes (Peeled and sliced into thick chips)
300g Self Raising Flour
Pinch of Baking Soda
Pinch of Salt
1 Pint of Belfast Ale
- Begin by combining the batter ingredients together in a large bowl - keeping the mix slightly lumpy, then set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6. Boil a large pan of water, then add the chips and boil for 2-3 mins until tender but not soft. Drain and place on a large baking tray and gently toss with some plain flour, salt and 2 tbsp of sunflower oil until coated. Roast for 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp.
- Heat oil to 180°C before lightly dusting the Cod fillets with flour. Shake off any excess and dip into the batter. Deep fry each fillet until cooked through, golden and crisp!
- Drain on kitchen paper, then sprinkle with salt. Serve with the hot chips and wedge of lemon!
