Junior Explorer, SS Nomadic, Titanic Experience
We welcomed our newly appointed Junior Explorers and their families to visit Titanic Belfast recently and set them the task of reviewing the Titanic Experience and SS Nomadic as part of their first visit!
Let's meet our 2018 Junior Explorers…

Firstly, tell us how you felt when you arrived at Titanic Belfast for the first time as our brand new Junior Explorers 2018/19!
Zac: I felt very excited! I have seen the building before but never been inside.
Anna: I felt nervous and excited at the same time!
Who did you bring with you to help you explore Titanic Belfast?
Anna: I brought along my mummy and my daddy.
Zac: I brought along my Mum, my Dad, my brother Josh who is eight and my brother Finn who is five.
Tell us what you like best about the Titanic Experience…
Anna: I loved going on the Shipyard ride and seeing all the workers!
Zac: We all loved going on the Shipyard Ride and the 3D video that made you feel like you were on the deck of the ship!

What about SS Nomadic, Titanic's original tender ship, what did you like best about it?
Anna: We loved looking around the SS Nomadic and taking plenty of photographs.
Zac: We loved the wheel of the ship, the interactive game and my brothers loved the dressing-up trunk.
Did you try out our Family Explorer Trail? Is there anything you would change about it?
Anna: Yes we did - it was brilliant fun!.
Zac: Yes, it was great fun looking out for the characters and learning new facts. It was nice to get a certificate at the end! I would not change it.
Can you tell us some of the things you learned during your visit?
Anna:
- There was a dolls head found in the wreckage.
- There were lots of different ages that travelled on board Titanic.
Zac:
- SS Nomadic carried lots of soldiers in WW1.
- There was no laundry on board Titanic.
- Over 100,000 people showed up to the launch of Titanic in Belfast!
If you were the boss for a day at Titanic Belfast, what would you introduce?
Anna: An outside play area!
Zac: A treat for the staff because they were all so friendly and helpful!
Lastly, would you recommend a visit to Titanic Belfast and SS Nomadic to your friends?
Anna: Yes of course, it is amazing fun!
Zac: Yes definitely! My class in Killinchy Primary School are learning about Titanic and they would all love the experience!
