Learning, STEMQuest, Survitec Methodist College Named STEMQuest Winners

As part of the NI Science Festival, whizz kids from around Northern Ireland competed today in our STEMQuest Challenge, in partnership with CCEA, in a bid to become Northern Ireland’s top team.

Methodist College proved to be ‘Best in Class’ in the University Challenge style competition, with Sullivan Upper being named runners-up, and were presented their award by local TV personality, Joe Lindsay.

STEMQuest saw over 32 teams of Key Stage 3 post primary students (years 8-10) from across the region compete and test their knowledge against one another.

Titanic Belfast’s Director of Operations, Siobhan Lynch commented, "A huge congratulations to Methodist College who have just fended off over 30 other teams to become our STEMQuest Champions. It was definetly a nail-biting competition. We were delighted to see so many schools, teachers and pupils get involved and the standard of all the teams was excellent! As the future need for Northern Irish STEM graduates grows, we were delighted to see young people engage with science in a fun and interactive way!"

Titanic Belfast’s education programme is recognised as a leading learning resource nationally and has welcomed over 150,000 participants since opening in 2012.  The wide range of learning programmes, which cover a variety of subjects and skills, ranging from maritime communication, marine science & exploration to 5 star customer service, is supported by the Survitec Group, a leading manufacturer of marine, defence and aerospace survival technology.
