NOTES
The motor-vessel Georgic was the last White Star liner designed and constructed for the Company. Laid down on the same berth in Harland & Wolff’s North Yard as her older sister Britannic (Yard No. 807), the order to proceed with her construction in October 1929, at the time, went someway towards compensating Harland & Wolff for the delay and ultimately the cancellation in the construction of Oceanic (Yard No. 844) designed as a rival to Cunard's Queen Mary. In 1934 Cunard and White Star amalgamated and the relationship between White Star and Harland & Wolff ended after almost 65 years; in future all new orders by the combined Company went to other shipbuilding yards.
