Letters from loved ones pop-up exhibition

Step back in time with our latest pop-up exhibition, Letters From Loved Ones, onboard SS Nomadic. In 1912, there were no emails, social media or smartphones to document people’s travel like there is today. We couldn’t see live stories showing people's surroundings in real time or be taken on the journey with them digitally. Back then, passengers relied on heartfelt letters to share their journeys and experiences with those back home.

Letters From Loved Ones presents a selection of deeply personal letters from passengers who travelled on board RMS Titanic. Some letters have come from those who survived, having been rescued by RMS Carpathia, offering insights into life aboard and the events that followed. Each letter gives a unique perspective, providing a genuine glimpse into the emotions and connections.
